A family tannery in Arlee, Montana, tanning for taxidermists since the 1980s.
Jill's parents opened Hair Hide and Fur Tannery about 45 years ago. Jill took it over more than 35 years ago and built it into the tannery taxidermists across the country ship to. In 2022 her son Kieran joined the business, which makes this a third-generation operation.
There are a lot of tanneries out there, from the huge companies to the backyard guy down the road. We sit in between: big enough to take any size order, and small enough that we handle every skin and know our clients by name. The backyard operation might save you a few dollars, but quality comes with experience, and every skin is someone's trophy.
We built the business on old-fashioned values: loyalty, integrity, and service. Each piece we handle, we know is special. We say what we will do, and we do what we say.
Every order gets personal attention. Rush service, wet tan, prep, and special requests. Just ask.
Took over the tannery from her parents more than 35 years ago, and still oversees every order that comes through the door.

A moose shoulder mount from one of the taxidermy shops that sends us their capes. We tanned it; they mounted it.
